Charges Laid in Stabbing

Police have charged a man in relation to a stabbing that occurred in Dartmouth this weekend.
On August 11, at 9:57 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing in the 0-100 block of Kennedy Drive. Upon arrival officers located a 19-year-old woman that sustained a stab wound and facial injuries. The woman was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries and was later released. The victim and the suspect are known to one another and this is not a random act.
Yesterday, at 4:10 p.m., 19-year-old Quintin Joseph Thomas of Halifax was arrested after he turned himself in at police headquarters. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today to face charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, robbery and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
