A man initially charged with attempted murder will now face a murder
charge.
On April 28 at 6:33 p.m. police responded to a stabbing inside a
residence in the 0-100 block of Flamingo Drive. Upon arrival, officers
located 77-year-old Norma Jean Salah suffering from a life-threatening
stab wound. She was taken to hospital but died on Saturday, May 5, and
her death was ruled a homicide.
Forty-one-year-old John Jason Salah of Halifax was arrested at the
scene and was initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated
assault and possession of a weapon. Today, investigators with the
HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit have amended the charges to include
second degree murder.
