Chebucto Road Shooting Update

The HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section continues to investigate an attempted murder incident that occurred on February 25 in Halifax.
 
At 10:40 p.m., police responded to the 6000 block of Chebucto Road after a man was shot inside a residence. Officers located a 25-year-old man who had been shot. The victim was taken to hospital by EHS and underwent surgery for his injuries. At this time he is still recovering in hospital. This incident is not random and is linked to drug activity.
 
Police are looking for two male suspects who are believed to be involved in this incident. The first suspect is described as a white man, stocky, 5’4″, medium length brown hair, large straight nose and small eyes. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black pea coat, grey hoodie, blue jeans and purple t-shirt. The second suspect is described as a black male, 6’2″, slender build, shaved head or close cut. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark clothing and a bandana covering his face.
 
After the initial search, officers observed evidence of drug trafficking inside the residence. The residence was secured and a search warrant was obtained for the residence. Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit seized a quantity of marijuana and hashish, cash and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is on-going and criminal charges are anticipated. Drug activity often involves violence that puts innocent citizens at risk and is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities.
