Child crossing road behind school bus hit by SUV

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a vehicle-hitpedestrian collision that occurred in Middle Sackville.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Fringe Dr. RCMP officers learned that a Cadillac Escalade was travelling northbound on the roadway when it struck a child who was crossing the road behind a departing school bus.

The child, from Middle Sackville, did not suffer physical injuries and was assessed by EHS at the scene. 

No charges are anticipated in this matter.

The Nova Scotia RCMP is reminding motorists to exercise extreme caution around school buses and to remain alert for pedestrians, even after the red lights on the buses have been turned off.
