Child in Friday accident succumbs to injuries

Halifax Regional Police are saddened to report that a 5-year-old child involved in a vehicle collision at Portland Street and Spring Avenue, Dartmouth on Friday, May 21, has succumbed to injuries. Our condolences and thoughts are with the family and loved ones at this difficult time. 

At 4:22 p.m. on Friday,  police responded to a vehicle collision involving a car and pickup truck at the intersection of Portland Street and Spring Avenue in Dartmouth.  An adult female driver and a 5-year-old child had been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  

Investigators with the Accident Investigation and Forensic Identification Section continue to conduct the investigation, and there are no further updates available at this time.
