Nova Scotia hip-hop star Classified shares the Magnetic Stage with a lineup of international hitmakers tonight as the Magnetic World Music Festival wraps up on Halifax’s Citadel Hill.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. at Garrison Grounds for the festival’s second and final night.

A homecoming before the headliners

Classified plays from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. The festival’s artist page describes his performance as “an East Coast anthem set that turns the Citadel into a homecoming.”

Vancouver alt-rock band Mother Mother follows with the sunset set from 6 to 7 p.m., and special guest Khalid plays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Ne-Yo and Akon, announced as night two co-headliners in July, close the festival with a two-hour back-to-back set from 9 to 11 p.m., according to the festival’s Ne-Yo and Akon pages.

The day opens with rising R&B and pop act Quoia States.

Magnetic World started in Moncton in 2022 and moved to Citadel Hill in 2023. This year’s edition is the fifth overall and the fourth on the hill, according to organizers.

Before you go

• Weather: Environment Canada calls for a mainly cloudy afternoon with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 17. Tonight brings a 60 per cent chance of showers, with northeast winds of 20 km/h gusting to 40 and a low of 14. The festival runs rain or shine, and umbrellas and blankets aren’t allowed, so bring a shell.
  
• Hours: Gates open at 2:30 p.m. Last entry and last call are at 10:30 p.m., bars close at 10:45 p.m. and the show ends at 11 p.m. There’s no re-entry, per the festival guide.
  
• Entrances: General admission and GA+ ticket holders use the main entrance on Ahern Avenue. VIP, E-VIP and will call are at the Sackville Street entrance.
  
• Bags: Fanny packs and small bags up to 11 x 6 x 6 inches only. Backpacks and water bottles (sealed or open) aren’t allowed.
  
• Weekend pass holders: Keep your wristband on, because the same one works both days.
  
• ID: Drinking is 19+ by wristband. Bring two pieces of ID.
  
• Getting there: There’s no parking at the festival site, including accessible parking. The festival notes that Saturday is street-cleaning day downtown, so check the signs before you park.
  
• Tickets: As of Saturday morning, the festival’s ticket page still listed Saturday single-day tickets, with general admission starting at $229 plus taxes and fees.
  
• After the hill: Magnetic After Hours Night 2 runs from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Toothy Moose, with DJ IV and special guests. It’s 19+ and needs a separate ticket.
