Clearasil Daily Clear cleansing pads

It is not a new technology with acne clearing pads in the industry at all but I have not “indulged” in them as much as spot treatments. I want to see results fast, you see?

I made an impulsive buy of Clearasil Daily Clear Hydra-Blast cleansing pads, with the intention to slowly introduce my skin again to the idea of an all-over treatment to prevent new pimples instead of just treating current ones.

The Daily Clear line is formulated with 1% Salicylic Acid, Aloe Vera, cucumber extracts and vitamin B3 to wipe away dirt, oil and bacteria, help prevent breakouts in a pH-balanced context. There are other cleansing products in the lineup, but I only wanted the pads.

The tub is of good size, holding 90 pads inside. They are textured and quite thick, saturated with liquid, enough to go around the face and neck a few times. Fast and convenient.

The instructions suggests to wipe a pad over affected areas only, starting with once a day to test drying effect on the skin, then increasing to 2-3 times/ day, if needed, for best results.

I personally did not experience dryness, just because I always follow the pad with the whole skin care routine. Also my skin is used to higher strength of Salicylic Acid, so 1% did not bother me either. However, I only used it in the morning after cleansing my face, as I have something else at night.

There is an alcohol scent to these pads, which is not a surprise, but it disperses quickly. With the lid being closed tightly after use, the pads stay moist till the last few in the tub.

I enjoy using these pads as a maintenance to the madness that are random breakouts on my face and jaw line. They sting a bit if I have an open pimple, so I try to go around it instead. Other than that, I will finish up this tub and move on to the Ultra Deep Pore cleansing pads with 2% Salicylic Acid.

Active ingredients: Salicylic 1% (2% in the US).

Inactive ingredients: Water, Alcohol, Isoceteth-20, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Niacinamide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, t-Butyl Alcohol, Denatonium Benzoate, Butylene Glycol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, etc.

A tub of Daily Clear Hydra-Blast cleansing pads retails about $9 but is on sale quite often. If you don’t mind the alcohol content in them, I do recommend them for mild acne situations, especially while traveling.
