At 819 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to the Convenience store located at 60 Rosedale Avenue for a robbery. The suspect entered the convenience store and physically assaulted the clerk in addition to spraying the clerk with a sensory irritant. The suspect was able to flee the store with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. A track was attempted by K9 however the suspect was not located. The clerk was transported to the QE2 for the treatment of minor injuries.
The suspect is described as follows
A White male in his 20’s, clean shaven with sharp features, pointy nose, sunken cheeks, very skinny. He was wearing a dark jacket that was too large for him, black or dark blue toque, and a balaclava that covered only the lower portion of his face.
The suspect was carrying a Goodlife bag and armed with a clear squirt bottle of what appears to be homemade pepper spray, and a large knife.
The investigation is continuing.
