Cocaine, prescription drugs, cash found after drug search

A man and a woman face charges after a drug search yesterday in Dartmouth.
At 4:20 p.m., officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Lakefront Road. Officers seized a quantity of crack cocaine, prescription drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia.
 
A 45-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, both from Dartmouth, were arrested at the scene. They each face charges of possession of drugs and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. They were released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
 
Drug activity often involves violence that puts innocent citizens at risk and is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities. The HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit investigates complaints and targets people involved in the purchase and sale of drugs. Citizens are encouraged to report drug activity to police at 490-5020.
