Cocaine, shotgun, and a vehicle seized – Colchester County

Police have interrupted a cocaine trafficking operation in Colchester County.

On August 28 at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of Colchester District RCMP, Colchester General Investigation Section (GIS), and Local Intelligence Officers of Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia (CISNS) searched a home on College Road in Valley.

Several people found in the residence were arrested. Police then searched the home, and located 675 grams of cocaine, a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, and an extendable baton.

The home that was searched by police was close to three schools, parks, and playgrounds, making the disruption of this illegal drug activity a high priority for investigators.

Police will be laying several charges in relation to this matter:

  • A 19-year-old man from Valley is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.
  • A 24-year-old man from Truro is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
  • A 17-year-old female youth from Truro, Colchester County is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking.
  • A 17-year-old female youth from North River is facing charges of Possession of Cocaine.

All four individuals were released from custody on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on dates in October and November.

The investigation is ongoing.
