COCO Meeting to be held Sept 27 – 7pm at PRCC

The September meeting of the Council of Community Organizations(COCO) will be held at 7 p.m.on Thursday,September 27 at the Prospect Road Community Centre, The meeting will be hosted by the Resource Opportunity Centre. Barbara Allen will be the Chair of the meeting. After a wonderful sunny summer, community activities are starting into their Fall modes helading a new year of meetings, programs and workshops. There are a large number of activities to talk about at the September COCO Meeting, including updates on the planning of Stewardship Activities for the Five Bridge Lakes Wilderness Area,under the auspices of the Steering Committee of the Chebucto Wilderness Coalition and Nova Scotia Environment, efforts of the Coalition to Buy Back the Mersey Lands, spearheaded by the St. Margagaret’s Bay Stewardship Association (SMBSA) and other community groups,, planning for the St. Margaret’s Bay Area to be discussed at a community workshop sponsored by SMBSA on September 15, a number of HRM planning initiatives, water quality qork, trail work activities. These are just a few of the activities that have been ongoing throughout the summer months. Our elected representatives attend COCO meetings as their schedules allow.We are always so pleased to have them join us to discuss matters ongoing in our communities.
