Cogswell Street – Natural Gas Pipeline Installation

Friday, April 17, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that starting on Monday, April 20, crews will be installing a natural gas line on Cogswell Street, between Robie and Trollope streets, for Heritage Gas.

Installation of the pipe is expected to take approximately six days with additional work required in May to restore the street. Work will begin daily at 9 a.m. and continue until about 4 p.m., with no work during peak traffic hours.

Lane drops will be in place in the Robie-bound lanes only while this work is going on. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to find alternative routes, if possible.

Motorists should also keep in mind that the block of Cogswell Street between North Park and Bauer streets, as well as the block of North Park between Cornwallis and Cogswell streets, are currently closed for construction of a roundabout in the area. Those closures will continue until early June.

The municipality and Heritage Gas apologize for any inconvenience this work or the streets closures may cause.
