Colchester County RCMP investigate robbery in Lower Truro, Lower Truro, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred at a local Esso convenience store.

This morning at 6:40 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Esso Convenience store on Robie Street.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone man wearing a mask walked into the store, approached the employee and produced a weapon. He demanded cash and cigarettes and fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money. An RCMP police dog was called in and containment was set-up with the assistance of Truro Police Service, the suspect was not located.

The suspect, who was carrying a black knapsack, is described as a young male wearing a grey face mask, black hoodie and jeans with black gloves. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
