Colchester County RCMP investigate robbery in Lower Truro, Lower Truro, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred at a local Esso convenience store.

This morning at 6:40 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Esso Convenience store on Robie Street.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone man wearing a mask walked into the store, approached the employee and produced a weapon. He demanded cash and cigarettes and fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money. An RCMP police dog was called in and containment was set-up with the assistance of Truro Police Service, the suspect was not located.

The suspect, who was carrying a black knapsack, is described as a young male wearing a grey face mask, black hoodie and jeans with black gloves. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
