Colchester County RCMP remain on scene of a fatal motorcycle crash at exit 12 in Masstown off Highway #104 west.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., RCMP, Emergency Health Services and Debert Fire Department responded to a report of a motorcycle crash involving a lone rider.

Preliminary investigation determined that the female rider lost control of her vehicle and went over the guardrail. The 53-year-old woman from Sydney, who was traveling to Prince Edward Island, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An RCMP traffic analyst is assisting investigators and traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway is flowing normally. However motorists should use caution when traveling through this area. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
