Colchester County RCMP respond to vehicle collision involving a police car, Brookfield, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP are currently on scene of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a police car. Shortly after 9:00 a.m., Colchester County RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision that took place on Highway 102 near Millbrook.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m., Colchester County RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision that took place on Highway 102 near Millbrook.

A Volkswagen Golf struck a road sign and then fled the scene.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., RCMP received a call about another single motor vehicle collision on Highway 2, south of Brookfield.

At approximately 9:20 a.m., a marked RCMP police vehicle was operating emergency lights and sirens while traveling southbound on Highway 2 in Brookfield to the second motor vehicle collision scene when the police vehicle became involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 289.

Brookfield Fire and Emergency Health Services (EHS), who were nearby at the second collision scene, attended. The female police officer was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The female driver of the second vehicle was extracted from the vehicle with assistance from Brookfield Fire and has also been transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The intersection and roadways surrounding the scene remain open. Motorists are asked to avoid this area or use extreme caution while driving near this collision scene.

The investigations are continuing.
