Man charged with child pornography offences

On August 7, Halifax Integrated Criminal Investigation Division Integrated Child Exploitation Unit searched a residence following a search warrant and arrested a Cole Harbour man after receiving a complaint of distribution child pornography via the internet.​

Donald Stuart Blair, 63, of Cole Harbour has been charged with:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Possession of Child Pornography

Blair was held in custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on August 8.​

In Nova Scotia it is mandatory for citizens to report suspected child pornography. This means that anyone who encounters child pornography material or recordings must report it to the police. Failing to report suspicious activity and materials could result in penalties similar to failure to report child abuse set out in the Child and Family Services Act.
