The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Lakeside Community Centre (1492 St. Margarets Bay Road, Lakeside) will be closing in mid-December to begin construction of a new facility. Construction will continue throughout 2024.

The renamed Beechville Lakeside Timerlea Recreation Centre, located at the same address, will include all the amenities of the existing Centre – as well as a community kitchen, full-sized gymnasium and splashpad. The 28,804 sq. ft. Centre is anticipated to open in 2025 and will be entirely net-zero with electric vehicle charging stations

There will be no loss of programs during the construction period. All programs will continue at alternative locations in the area. To view upcoming programs, please visit halifax.ca/myREC.
