Community Clean-up Time Again – Updated April 17th

Community Clean-up Time Again - Updated April 17th
Community Clean-up The annual Prospect Road Community Clean Up is again coming up. Groups are encouraged to take part and mobilize so they can make a difference where they live. Many communities have people who are organizing their efforts while there also groups who are planning efforts. Again we have planned the clean up for the Saturday after Earth Day. We realize that not all groups and individuals can do their cleaning on the Saturday so it is completely acceptable to still be a part of the Clean Up even if the school or group does a clean up an a different day. No matter when you clean up or what time you start everyone is invited to the community bbq which will be held at noon Saturday April 28th at the Prospect Road Community Centre. Prospect Road Lion’s Club members will again be the chefs for the day. Besides the traditional hot dogs, chips and drink we will also have a healthier snack option of apples and bananas. This year we welcome the folks who live in the Sandstone and Westridge areas to the clean up crew as well as the Sparks who meet at Atlantic Memorial. Groups can contact me by email for supplies that are needed. We do have access to a larger number of safety vests so if you have groups that are cleaning up in high traffic areas please let me know. If you or someone in your group can not make the clean up on the 28th but would still like to help in the community there is a ditch clean up being organized by the Citizens on Patrol along with the Lions Club the following weekend. This ditch clean up focusses on the area from the beginning of the Prospect Road past Exhibition Park, the Irving and into Goodwood. The exact finish location depends on the number of volunteers they have. Please feel free to share this with anyone who is interested. The notice  will list locations being cleaned, start times and group contact info.
