Chebucto Community Development Association (CCDA) currently has volunteer openings for several Board of Director positions. CCDA is a registered charity that works with the Spryfield Area and District to add value to the community by helping residents build their capacity to overcome challenging circumstances.
WHAT DOES A BOARD MEMBER DO?
A Board Member for CCDA volunteers to be part of a team of people who come together to work with, and advise the Executive Director and staff team on how to continue working toward building the capacity of the Spryfield Area and District (Armdale to the Pennents and around the Sambro Loop.) This includes attending monthly evening meetings (7 to 9PM) and possibly sitting on sub-committees such as the Program Committee, Fundraising Committee, Finance Committee, Marketing Committee etc. The position could require some occasional dates to help fundraise/organize a fundraising event for the charity, or to drop in to see one of the programs in action, or to help represent etc. On average, a dedicated Board Member volunteers 8 to 10 hours per month.
