A community driven initiative to restore the decrepit beach house at Lawrencetown Beach took place to kick off June.

Surfers, community members, and even the HRFE attended the event, scrapers and brushes in hand.  Lands and Forests had members on hand as well to assist.

The beach house has been left in ruins for years without government support and maintenance.  Surfers and beach users depend on the building for countless reasons, including showers, changing rooms and more.

Many supplies were either donated (see image) or provided out of pocket by the volunteers.

There were community meetings that took place years ago in regards to fixing or replacing the building.  No follow through came of those discussions.
