Originally from Toronto, Cst. Bracken has been living and working in HRM for the past 13 years, stationed out of RCMP Detachments in Cole Harbour, Lower Sackville and most recently, Tantallon. Before taking on her current role in Tantallon, Cst. Bracken spent 3 years as the Community Policing Officer in Cole Harbour. She is married to another Halifax District RCMP officer, and together, they have 3 small boys.
Cst. Bracken is involved in many activities within her community such as the Safe Seniors Program, Neighbourhood Watch, Citizens on Patrol, and DARE, which is an anti-drug initiative that runs in the local elementary schools. These programs provide Cst. Bracken with a solid base within the communities she serves, allowing her to get to know the people who live in these areas, to understand their needs and address their concerns.
For more information on any of these programs, feel free to contact Cst. Tamu Bracken directly. She can be reached at (902) 223-2610, or by e-mail at: Tamu.Bracken@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
