Community Profile – Multi Cup Cafe

multi-cup-cafe-1On Friday, November 20, 2009, I had the opportunity to visit Multi Cup Café and was welcomed by a lovely lady by the name of Diane.  The feel when I walked in was very warm and inviting.  I was excited to be sitting down in our very own coffee shop in Hatchet Lake to enjoy a dark roast and a morning glory muffin.

I was meeting one of the owners of Multi Cup, Larry Morash, (partner Peter Warren) and I couldn’t think of a better place than the Multi Cup Café.  Following is how our meeting played out:

Good morning Larry and Thank You for taking time to meet with me this morning over coffee.

Q:    Do you live in the community of Hatchet Lake?
A:    I grew up in West Dover until I was 16 or 17 years of age and then moved to the city.  I moved back 6 years ago and I live in Brookside now.

Q:    What inspired you to open a coffee shop in this community?
A:    Well, the Multi Scoop was seasonal and I didn’t want it to close down for the winter so I thought it would be a good idea to open a coffee shop and offer both services to the community.

Q:    Did you do a community assessment?  If so , how was that carried out?
A:    Not really.  Basically, conversations and feedback from at Multi Tech Automotive was enough for me to consider a Multi Scoop and Multi Cup.
