Congratulations to Nova Scotia’s Graduating Class of 2018

More than 8,800 high school students across the province will cross the stage and accept their diplomas this June. Graduation marks their first step toward continued education or entering the workforce.

Cobequid Educational Centre graduate Kathyrn MacQuarrie reflects on her experiences during her time in school.

“My time in public school has been a memorable learning experience, during which I have realized the importance of taking risks,” said Ms. MacQuarrie. “Taking chances allows the possibility of developing new, exciting skills and allows you to meet like-minded people.”

Like almost half of her fellow graduates, she will continue on to post-secondary education. In the fall, she will attend the University of Waterloo to study biomedical engineering.

The Minister and staff at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development congratulate all 2018 graduates on their accomplishments and wish them all the best in the future.

The department would also like to thank teachers, administrators, education staff and volunteers who have supported our graduates throughout their school journey.

“On behalf of everyone in government and the department, I want you to know how proud we are,” said Zach Churchill, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. “We know you have worked hard to get to this day. Remember to say thank you to your teachers and to family and friends who supported your efforts throughout high school. My best wishes for a bright future.”
