Construction PSA: Eastbound traffic shut down on Chebucto; stop-and-go at Almon and Agricola

Drivers should brace for delays this week as two key streets in the city undergo construction in support of the 2021–25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan.

Chebucto Road: Eastbound closure from Windsor to North

From Wednesday, April 16 to Wednesday, April 23, Chebucto Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Windsor and North streets. The work will take place daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

This closure is part of ongoing efforts to build a safer, more accessible integrated mobility network. While eastbound traffic will be detoured, pedestrian access and emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Motorists should plan for delays and consider alternate routes.

Almon Street: Signal outage at Agricola intersection

On Wednesday, April 16, work crews will also be repairing asphalt at the intersection of Almon and Agricola streets. The repairs will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During that time, traffic lights at the intersection will be completely offline, and a stop-and-go system will be in effect. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible to reduce congestion.

Both projects are aligned with the city’s broader push to modernize infrastructure and prioritize safety across the transportation network.
