Contract Awarded to Develop Facility Plan for Proposed Cultural Hub

Architecture49, of Halifax, has been awarded the contract to prepare a facility plan for a cultural hub on the Halifax waterfront.The cultural hub would include a new Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University campus and new public outdoor space.Government awarded the contract today, June 26. This project is being led by government, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, NSCAD and the Waterfront Development Corporation.This work will be used in the next steps and final decisions.The total cost of the tender is $246,524.00Nova Scotians and stakeholders including artists, Indigenous communities, arts and cultural organizations, NSCAD staff, faculty and students, and others will have an opportunity over the next month to help shape a vision for the proposed cultural hub via surveys and in-person sessions.
