Cops ask for leads after man follows young girl near school

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who approached a girl earlier today in Halifax.

At 1.pm. on January 25th, police were advised that at 11:52. am. a 13-year-old girl was walking on Prescott Street, near Duffus Street, when she noticed that a man was following her. She continued to walk toward the corner of Duffus Street and Agricola Street, she was walking quickly and the male did not continue to follow her.

The girl did not know the man, she returned to her school Highland Park School located at 3479 Robie Street. The girl advised school staff who called the police. The man is described as a black man in his 30s, approximately 5’10” in height, wearing black jeans, a black winter hat described as a “beanie”, dark sunglasses, and carrying a black back pack.
