Cops charge multiple drivers after extensive checks over the weekend

Halifax Regional Police conducted extensive checks and stops over the weekend, aiming to remove impaired drivers from the roads. In this operation, officers screened hundreds of vehicles, resulting in charges against nine drivers for impaired driving and suspensions for two others. Among these, seven drivers faced charges related to alcohol-related impaired operation, while two were charged with refusal, and two received driving suspensions for alcohol consumption.

Additionally, one driver was found in possession of cocaine and is scheduled to appear in court on a possession for the purpose of trafficking charge. If you spot a potential impaired driver, dial 911 immediately, providing your location and a detailed description of the vehicle, including license plate, color, make, model, direction of travel, and the driver’s description.
