Cops continue to investigate murder of Jonathan Reader

Last Friday marked the fourth anniversary of the murder of 19-year-old Jonathan Reader which the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.

At about 4:10 a.m. on August 7, 2005, Reader was found unconscious on the roadway at Radcliffe Drive and Dunbrack Street. Mr. Reader was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. The matter was later ruled a homicide.

In tracking Mr. Reader’s activities earlier that morning, investigators have determined that he left Pacifico Bar and Grill at 1:57 a.m. with an unidentified woman and was then in the area of Dutch
Village Road at 3:20 a.m., at which time it is believed he was alone.

Homicide Detectives continue to receive and follow-up on information in relation to this file. They urge citizens with information about the case, particularly anyone who may have seen anything out of the ordinary in the area of Radcliffe Drive and Dunbrack Street in the early morning hours of August 7, 2005, to come forward.
