Cops investigating after child approached, offered candy

Police are investigating suspicious circumstances that occurred this month in Halifax.

On November 5 police received a report of suspicious circumstances near a park in the 200 block of Langbrae Drive. At approximately 4:35 p.m. a woman approached a child who was not known to her, offered them candy and asked the child to go to her vehicle. The child left the area and reported the incident to a trusted adult who contacted police.

The suspect is described as a black woman in her 30s, approximately 5’5” tall with short hair and wearing jeans and a bright pink coat.

Police are asking the woman or anyone with information in relation to this incident or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
