RCMP release:
Meteghan RCMP executed a search warrant and recovered a stolen ATV as part of an ongoing investigation into stolen property.
On October 25, Meteghan RCMP, assisted by Southwest Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SWN SCEU), executed a search warrant at a property in Saulnierville Station. Officers located and seized an ATV that had been reported stolen on October 24. It will be returned to its rightful owner.
During the search warrant execution, officers safely arrested Donald Joseph Comeau, 59, of Saulnierville Station.
Comeau has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000. He was released pending a first court appearance at Digby Provincial Court on December 8.
“We’re pleased that we were able to get this ATV back to its proper owner, but not every investigation allows for a swift recovery of missing items,” says Cpl. Vince Lacroix, Meteghan RCMP Detachment supervisor. “We continue to encourage people to lock up property like ATVs, bikes, and lawn equipment and store them out of sight.”
Nova Scotia RCMP encourages the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity to police. If you discover a property offence has taken place on your property, please report it to police immediately. Reports tell us where to look, who to look for, and where to patrol in the future.
