Couple Awoken To Find Man Standing In Boxer Shorts

Officers assigned to the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a break and enter that took place yesterday morning in Halifax.
At 5 a.m., a man and a woman sleeping in the bedroom of a rooming house in the 6000 block of South Street awoke to find a man standing in their room. The suspect was only wearing boxer shorts and left the bedroom when he was asked to leave. The couple locked the bedroom door, however, the suspect stayed in the common area for over an hour, periodically trying the bedroom door. When the couple left their room around 7:45 a.m., the suspect was no longer in the rooming house. It’s believed the man entered the rooming house through an unlocked door. Nothing was taken and no one was injured. The incident was reported to police later in the day.
The suspect is described as a thin white man in his twenties with shoulder-length hair.
Police reminds citizens of the importance of keeping doors and windows secure. Citizens should call police if they observe any suspicious behaviour.
