COVID-19 positive test results now available by email

Starting December 22, most Nova Scotians will now be able to receive their COVID-19 positive test results through an automated email.

With the significant increase of COVID-19 cases in our province, providing both positive and negative COVID-19 test results by email will remove delays in contacting individuals. The email will include additional instructions from Public Health.

When Nova Scotians come for their testing appointment at a COVID-19 testing centre or mobile testing unit, they will be asked at registration for their email and/or phone number, as well as their health card number.

Email auto-notifications require the person to have a valid Nova Scotia health card (MSI). If someone provides an email address, results will be sent via email first. In cases where only a phone number is provided, negative results will be provided by phone (automated call) and positive results by text.

Nova Scotians awaiting test results should be prepared to enter the last four digits of the health card number to access their results by email or phone.

Email results may be received 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Individuals should check their “Junk” and “Other Inbox” folders for their test results and read all instructions provided in the email. Look for an email from noreply@nshealth.ca
