Cow Bay Road – Street Closure

Thursday, June 18, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that an existing street closure on Cow Bay Road will need to be extended one block today and tomorrow to allow crews to connect underground infrastructure at the intersection with Oceanlea Drive.

Cow Bay Road is now closed to vehicle traffic between Ridding Road and Caldwell Road. This went into effect at 9 a.m. today and will remain in place until about 9 p.m. on Friday, June 18. The street will not reopen overnight tonight.

The existing detour has been adapted accordingly and vehicles travelling through the area should pay attention to the posted detour signage and construction crews.

This work is part of Halifax Water’s Cow Bay Road Deep Storm Sewer Upgrade Project, a joint initiative with the municipality. Cow Bay Road has been closed since late May for this project and the work is expected to continue until mid-August.

Halifax Water and the municipality regret any inconvenience this work or the closures may cause. For more information on the project, please visit Halifax Water’s website at www.halifaxwater.ca.
