Crash investigation referred to SiRT, Halifax, N.S.

Halifax RCMP has contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) regarding a motor vehicle crash that occurred earlier today.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. this afternoon, RCMP noted a vehicle travelling north on Cobequid Road, Lower Sackville at a very high rate of speed.

Police activated their emergency equipment and within moments, the vehicle crashed near the Ultramar Gas Station on the corner of Glendale Road and Cobequid Road.

Halifax RCMP contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) late today and they have taken over the investigation. Given the matter is now being investigated by SiRT, the RCMP is not able to disclose further details on the incident. Any questions about the investigation should be directed to SiRT.
