Crime of the week – Police investigate attempted armed robbery, Lower Sackville, N.S.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's assistance in solving an attempted armed robbery of an armoured truck. On Thursday, October 30th, 2014 at approximately 11:22 p.m., a male suspect described as approximately 5'6' tall and 180 lbs wearing a Batman mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and running shoes attempted to rob an armoured truck in the parking lot of the Royal Bank located at 790 Sackville Dr.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in solving an attempted armed robbery of an armoured truck.

On Thursday, October 30th, 2014 at approximately 11:22 p.m., a male suspect described as approximately 5’6′ tall and 180 lbs wearing a Batman mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and running shoes attempted to rob an armoured truck in the parking lot of the Royal Bank located at 790 Sackville Dr.

The suspect waited for the truck to park and the guards to exit the vehicle before confronting them. The suspect was carrying a silver handgun and demanded the money from the truck. The armed guards reacted to the suspect causing him to flee across Sackville Dr to a parked vehicle in the Superstore parking lot. The escape vehicle, a dark coloured mini-van, sped towards Old Beaver Bank Rd.
