Crime of the week – RCMP investigates arson, Pictou Landing, N.S.

Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help in solving a suspicious cottage fire. At approximately 8 a.m. on May 14, Pictou County District RCMP responded to a fire at a cottage on Rustico Lane, Pictou Landing.

Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a suspicious cottage fire.

At approximately 8 a.m. on May 14, Pictou County District RCMP responded to a fire at a cottage on Rustico Lane, Pictou Landing.

When officers arrived on scene they found members of the Pictou Landing Fire Department battling the blaze, which destroyed the cottage. Further investigation by RCMP found several nearby cottages had been broken into and vandalized. The Provincial Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to assist with the investigation and has deemed the fire to be suspicious. The investigations are continuing.
