Crime Prevention Awards Nominations

The nomination deadline for the Minister’s Award for Leadership in Crime Prevention has been extended until Friday, Sept. 30.

The awards recognize individuals or groups dedicated to preventing crime and making communities safer.

“We’ve received great nominations so far, but I know there are more people and organizations who deserve to be nominated for this award,” said Justice Minister Diana Whalen. “I encourage Nova Scotians who know of someone doing great work to prevent crime in their community, to take the time and nominate them.”

Nominees can include community groups and leaders, youth, media, police officers and business leaders.

Nominations are being accepted in six categories:
— individual
— youth (21 and under)
— community group or organization
— policing
— restorative justice/restorative approaches
— corporate
