Nina Johnsen has been appointed a Crown attorney in Bridgewater.
Martin Herschorn, director of public prosecutions, announced the appointment today, Jan. 4.
“Ms. Johnsen’s foundation in criminal law is a solid asset to the Public Prosecution Service,” said Mr. Herschorn.
A native of New Jersey, Ms. Johnsen graduated from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, in 2004 with a bachelor of arts in philosophy and classical studies and from the University of New Brunswick law school in 2013.
She moved to Nova Scotia and articled with Stewart and Turner in Berwick and was appointed an associate lawyer with Bacchus and Associates in Halifax in 2014.
She later moved to Allen Law Inc. in Dartmouth and then to Bailey and Associates in Dartmouth. While in private practice, Ms. Johnsen has concentrated on criminal law.
Ms. Johnsen has been an active participant in Dartmouth Players Community Theatre for the last several years.
She recently became a permanent resident of Canada.
