Cumberland County RCMP investigate suspicious fires, Fort Lawrence, N.S.

Cumberland District RCMP are seeking the public's help in two suspicious fires that occurred yesterday. Yesterday morning at approximately 6 a.m., RCMP and Amherst Fire Department, assisted by the Amherst Police Department, responded to two suspicious structure fires on Highway 2 in near the Amherst Town border.

Yesterday morning at approximately 6 a.m., RCMP and Amherst Fire Department, assisted by the Amherst Police Department, responded to two suspicious structure fires on Highway 2 in near the Amherst Town border.

Two businesses in the area sustained some damage as a result of the fires, no one was hurt.

The investigation has determined that the fires are suspicious in nature and RCMP are now asking for the public’s help. One suspect seen in the area is described as wearing black clothing, black ball hat, long hair and a design on the back of the shirt. No further description is available.
