Dartmouth collision leaves woman and 5-year-old with life-threatening injuries

At 4:22p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle collision involving a car and pickup truck at the intersection of Portland Street and Spring Avenue, Dartmouth.  The adult female driver and 5-year-old child in the car sustained life-threatening injuries.  Both have been transported to the hospital.  The driver of the truck was not injured. 

The investigation is in the early stages and investigators with the Accident Investigation and Forensic Identification Section and are conducting the investigation.  At this time it is not known if charges are pending.

Traffic Blocked: All East bound (out bound) traffic on Portland Street is blocked Eisener Blvd and Portland Estates Blvd/Spring Avenue.  Traffic will remain blocked for an extended period of time.
