Police are currently on scene investigating a report of shots fired in Dartmouth.
At 2:25 p.m. police received a report of multiple shots being fired inside a barber shop in the shopping plaza located at 118 Wyse Road. Initial reports indicate that either one or two men entered the barber shop at which point shots were fired. As a result, the people who were inside the barber shop began fleeing.
A security guard in the area noticed a man running as police were arriving on scene. He subsequently directed police to the man’s location inside the Sportsplex. Investigators have a man in custody and have recovered a firearm. To this point, there have been no reported injuries as a result of the shots being fired. The investigation, led by investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, is in its early stages.
