De-Cluttering Life

Another weekend gone already.  Where does the time go?  This week marks the middle of June. WOW, this Summer is just going to fly by.  It’s looking to be a pretty normal work week followed by a fun weekend full of good friends and good food. Excited!

Today was great, after Holly and Dean left, we got organized and de-cluttered a couple more rooms.  We loaded up a few boxes/bags for good will, including my size 24 prom dressIt’s 10 years old, was never dry cleaned and I never plan to be that size again so why am I hanging on to it?  Into the bag it went!   (Don’t worry Mom, I will never, ever throw out my Wedding Dress, regardless of the size.) Also washed our comforter and sheets and hung them out to dry. I love, love, love the smell of fresh sheets from the line.  I will sleep well tonight. 🙂

Tomorrow I’m hitting the big ‘ol RESET button, weighing in and getting my head back to tracking.  I can’t believe I allowed myself to fall off track after only 2.5 weeks. Grr.  It’s going to be extra challenging too, because this upcoming weekend I will be dining out twice so I need to save my WAPs for those planned indulgences.

It’s been really nice not having to follow anytime of workout plan.  We’ve been walking, getting on the elliptical, doing a lot of yard work and garden work.  I still feel like I’m in okay shape, which is a relief. Now that the weather is nice, I’m really looking forward to getting out and exploring some of the local trails.

Tonight hubby and I fine tuned our budget even more with some special interest-calculating spreadsheets that he uses at work.  It’s going to be so worth it to not do or buy much from now until the end of December.   We have many things included in the budget, such as the up coming dinners with the girls, birthdays, etc., so I’m hopeful that I won’t notice the lack of needless spending. 😉

And, last but not least, I borrowed this fantastic idea from Ang earlier this morning and blended up a “Vanilla Breeze”.  I only had UVAB and no UCAB so it was a little diff but still tasted great!

I used:

  • 1.5 cups coffee
  • 1/2 cup UVAB
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • LOTS of ice. (2-3 cups?)

Blended it up.  This made two large servings at 1pt each. Sweet!
