Deaths Ruled Murder-Suicide

Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit have cleared the scene at 7 Galaxy Avenue in Dartmouth.

Officers responded to the apartment building on Friday at 5 p.m. to conduct a well-being check of a female resident. That investigation led officers to another apartment in the same apartment building, where the woman, 60-year-old Marguerite Maude Kenney, and a man, 58-year-old Patrick Lee McGrath, were both found deceased. Based on the investigation, officers have determined this was a murder-suicide that occurred late Thursday night/early Friday morning in Mr. McGrath's apartment. It is believed Mr. McGrath took the life of Ms. Kenney, who was his neighbour, before he took his own.
