Deputy Ministers Appointed

Premier Stephen McNeil today, April 16, appointed several deputy ministers to support key government priorities. Dr. Peter Vaughan, current CEO of the South Shore Health Authority, has been appointed deputy minister of Health and Wellness, and Seniors.

Premier Stephen McNeil today, April 16, appointed several deputy ministers to support key government priorities.

Dr. Peter Vaughan, current CEO of the South Shore Health Authority, has been appointed deputy minister of Health and Wellness, and Seniors.

Dr. Vaughan is also chair of the Nova Scotia Quality and Patient Safety Advisory Committee. He has served as CEO of the Canadian Medical Association, and Chief Health Human Resources Officer in Nova Scotia.

Sandra McKenzie will become deputy minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. Ms. McKenzie is the current deputy minister of Labour and Advanced Education, and former associate deputy minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism.

Frank Dunn, current acting deputy minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, has been appointed deputy minister of Natural Resources.

Duff Montgomerie will move from Natural Resources to become deputy minister of Labour and Advanced Education.

The appointments are effective April 28.
