DERMALOGICA: A REVIEW

Having been familiar with the brand when I was approached about giving their products (along with a few others) a test drive I jumped on the chance.
After using this combo pack for the past couple weeks here’s what I’ve got to say about it…

Quality and simplicity stand at the forefront of Dermalogica’s packaging and their products. Commendable, for sure, Dermalogica stands behind their products so much so that they are not concerned with glamming up their product packaging to appeal to users. Concerned with keeping quality at the forefront Dermalogica takes a no-fuss approach to branding their products.
We’re far too interested in guiding you to a new level of skin health fitness! So, while our packaging may not be designed to color-coordinate with your bathroom, you can always be sure that we’ve spent our time on delivering your skin the high-performance formulas it needs. Plus, we’ll never use common “beauty” ingredients like Mineral Oil, Lanolin, artificial colors and fragrances or other cheap fillers. Sure, it’s easier to formulate with them, but the bottom line is they’re just bad for your skin. Instead, we use ingredients that we know will work – our confidence founded by skin care professionals worldwide who use our products in their treatment rooms every day because they get results” (retrieved from Dermalogica.ca)
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCTS
For someone like myself who continues to suffer from blemishes in adulthood I appreciate the lack of mineral oil in their products, as many of you fellow acne sufferers knowcan cause breakouts.
I enjoyed using all of the products featured in the combo pack, but I was especially taken with the Special Cleansing Gel. I love how much it lathered, and it gave my skin a squeaky clean feeling that I am always after when removing my makeup at the days end. I do wish that it was slightly more exfoliating, but I think that’s the purpose of the Gentle Cream Exfoliant.
As important as it is to cleanse and hydrate your skin, it is equally as important to exfoliate it. I used the mask a couple times a week in conjunction with the other products, and I felt good about making sure to scuff off all that old skin.
I also love that the Multi-Active Toner is in a spray form! This little addition allows for so much less waste (no need for cotton balls/pads), and also less tugging on my skin (always a win).
Eye Cream might not be on your agenda in your mid to late 20s, but it certainly should be! This Intense Eye Repair Cream is a great addition to the combination pack, as keeping this area of your face hydrated is vitally important to prevent wrinkles! It’s much easier to put the work in before the wrinkles set in than after! The skin under your eye is as fragile as a wet tissue, and so it’s important to make sure to exercise extra care when applying any creams to this area. You could actually do more harm than good. Use your ring finger and dab the cream into the area in an outward motion.
Overall I was quite impressed with the combo pack. I think it did well to cover a lot of skincare bases, and I appreciate the lack of chemicals in their products. For more information on their products and the different types they offer please visit the Dermalogica website at www.dermalogica.ca
