Detour Digest: Jubilee Rd 24/7 Closure, Delays on Robie, St. Margarets Bay Rd and more (Posted Nov 4 2025)

We’re heading into the first full week of November with a slew of new closures and delays around HRM. A few major 24/7 closures, and a key north-end street is closing this coming weekend. Here’s what you need to know.

New HRM Work This Week

  • Jubilee Road (24/7 Closure): This is a big one for the peninsula. Jubilee Road, between Vernon and Robie streets, will be closed 24/7 starting Nov. 3 until Thursday evening (Nov. 6) for excavation work. A detour will be in place, but local traffic will be maintained.
  • Robie Street (Peninsula): Watch for daytime delays on Robie Street between Cunard Street and Quinpool Road for natural gas work. This runs Nov. 3 until Wednesday (Nov. 5), from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
  • St. Margarets Bay Road (Multiple Delays): This road has two separate projects starting this week:
    • Daytime: Expect stop-and-go traffic from Chandler Road to Bowater Mersey Road from Monday, Nov. 3, to Wednesday, Nov. 5, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
    • Overnight: Crews will be working from Chandler Road to Dannys Lane from Wednesday, Nov. 5, to Friday, Nov. 7. This work runs from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Woodlawn Road (Dartmouth – Multiple Delays): Woodlawn is also seeing two different disruptions:
    • Daytime: An altered centreline will be in place from Valleyfield Road to Athorpe Drive on Monday (Nov. 3) and Tuesday (Nov. 4) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Overnight: An altered centreline will be in place from Portland Street to Valleyfield Road starting tonight (Nov. 3) until Wednesday morning (Nov. 5), from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Spring Avenue (Dartmouth – Upcoming): Heads up for tomorrow. This road will have rolling closures on Tuesday, Nov. 4, between Clysdale and Bella Vista drives from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Windsor Street (Upcoming Weekend Closure): A reminder for next weekend. Windsor Street will be fully closed between Chebucto Road and Cunard Street from 7 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 8) to 7 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 9) for utility work.

Ongoing Delays Around HRM

  • Dahlia Street (Dartmouth): The 24/7 closure on Dahlia Street between Maple and Beech streets is ongoing until Friday, Nov. 21.
  • Peggys Cove Road: The long-term, weekday, single-lane traffic continues from Indian Point Road to Trunk 3 until Friday, Nov. 28.

Heading Out of Town?

Here’s a look at the major provincial highway work:

  • Hants County (New Work):
    • Wentworth Road: Expect lane reductions from sunrise to sunset starting Nov. 3 until Monday, Nov. 17.
    • Beaver Pond Road: Lane reductions will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and run until Monday, Nov. 17.
  • Hants County (Ongoing): Trunk 1 in Windsor remains down to one lane until further notice.
  • Kings County (Horton Bridge): The Highway 101 eastbound lane on the bridge is still reduced until this Thursday, Nov. 6.
  • Lunenburg County (Highway 103): The weekday blasting schedule continues between Exits 6 and 7.
  • Shelburne County (Trunk 3): Paving continues with single-lane traffic in Shag Harbour until Sunday, Nov. 30.
  • Colchester County: Highway 102 southbound (Millbrook to Shortts Lake) is one lane until Dec. 12. Slade Road near Tatamagouche also remains closed.
  • Guysborough County: The Pirate Harbour Bridge is down to one lane until Saturday, Dec. 20.
  • Cape Breton: The Campbell Brook Bridge in Sydney remains closed (until 2026), and Trunk 4 in Sydney River is one lane (until Dec. 15).
  • Pictou County: The Moore’s Ford Bridge and Welsford Bridge remain closed on detour
