Happy Tuesday! We’re rolling into a busy week for construction, so plan ahead, especially if you cross the city’s north end or commute out of Bedford. This week features new delays near the Cogswell area and a major weekend closure. Here’s what you need to know.

New/Upcoming HRM Work

  • Lady Hammond Road (Upcoming Full Weekend Closure): A full weekend Roadway Closure is happening on Lady Hammond Road, between Mackintosh and Commission streets. This is prep work for the upcoming Windsor Street Exchange project.
    • When: From Friday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. to Monday, Nov. 24, at 5 a.m.
    • Impact: This area will be closed to all traffic. Marked detours will be in place, and Halifax Transit routes 29 and 93 will be following detours.
  • Maple & Dahlia streets (Tomorrow): Watch for lane drops and stop-and-go traffic at the intersection of Maple and Dahlia streets tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ongoing HRM Delays

  • Highway 102 Exit 3 (Bedford): The southbound off-ramp to Hammonds Plains Road (Exit 3) is reduced to one lane for widening until December 24. Be prepared for traffic stops up to 10 minutes for blasting between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Barrington & Duke streets (Cogswell Area): A lane drop continues at this intersection as crews replace signal poles for the Cogswell District project. This work runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Nov. 27.
  • St. Margarets Bay Road: Stop-and-go traffic continues between Chandler and Bowater Mersey roadsweekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 21.
  • Highway 118 (Dartmouth): One lane is reduced near Micmac Boulevard until December 19.
  • Peggys Cove Road: One lane is reduced on weekdays until November 28.

Heading Out of Town? (Provincial Highways)

  • Highway 103 (Hubbards to Chester): Expect temporary lane closures for blasting on most weekdays around 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This twinning project is scheduled to continue until May 2027.
  • Highway 102 (Enfield): Paving continues on the southbound lanes, leading to lane reductions in two separate sections until December 16.
  • Colchester County: Highway 102 southbound (Millbrook to Shortts Lake) is reduced to one lane until December 12.
  • Hants County: Trunk 1 in Windsor remains reduced to one lane until further notice.
  • Shelburne County: Trunk 3 in Shag Harbour is reduced to one lane until November 30.
  • Guysborough County: The Pirate Harbour Bridge is down to one lane until December 20.
