New & Ongoing Roadwork in HRM
Here’s a look at the latest traffic disruptions across the Halifax Regional Municipality.
- Intersection of Barrington & Upper Water streets (Halifax): The intersection is closed overnight from Wednesday, Sept. 17 to Thursday, Sept. 18 (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.) for the installation of new traffic poles. Traffic signals will be off, and traffic control personnel will direct vehicles through the intersection. Delays are expected, and drivers should find an alternative route if possible.
- La Pierre Crescent (Dartmouth): On Thursday, September 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Halifax Water crews will be conducting a sewer lateral repair near 90 La Pierre Crescent. The street will be open to local traffic only, with detours in place. Sidewalks will remain open, and the work will not affect water services.

- Highway 2 (Fall River): Expect stop-and-go traffic on Highway 2, between Fall River Road and Coach Avenue, on Thursday, September 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. The work involves road repairs to improve the mobility network. Delays are anticipated, and alternative routes are recommended.
- Moirs Mill Road (Bedford): Halifax Water crews are currently on Moirs Mill Road for water system maintenance. This is causing stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. While sidewalks are open, residents in the area might notice temporarily discoloured water. If this happens, you should run cold water from a tap until it becomes clear.
