Halifax, the turkey leftovers aren’t the only thing slowing you down this week. The city’s roads are serving up plenty of post-Thanksgiving gridlock. Grab a coffee, take a deep breath, and let’s see where you’ll need extra patience today.

🏙️ HRM roadwork
- Dunbrack Street (Halifax) – Between Lacewood Drive and Main Avenue. Oct. 14–15, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Two-way traffic maintained, but lane reductions in place.
- Maple & Dahlia Streets (Dartmouth) – Oct. 14–17, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Road repair work with lane drops; expect short delays.
- Woodlawn Road (Dartmouth) – Between Athorpe Drive and Valleyfield Road. Oct. 14–17, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Lane reductions for resurfacing.
- Glendale & Riverside Drives (Lower Sackville) – Oct. 14 only, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Lane reductions for roadwork.
- Countryview Drive (Burnside/Dartmouth) – Oct. 13–17, 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Closed between Cabela Road and the Wright Avenue overpass for utility work.
- Windsor Street Exchange (Halifax) – Early prep begins Oct. 24–27 for the new overpass on Highway 111 near the MacKay Bridge. Expect detours and lane shifts over the coming weeks.
🌲 Provincial roadwork
- Aylesford Road (Kings County) – Closed daily 7 a.m.–7 p.m., open to local and school bus traffic only. Reopens nightly.
- Lake Road (Noel, Hants County) – Closed Oct. 14–15, 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. for culvert maintenance. Local traffic only.
- Highway 102 (Enfield) – Ongoing single-lane closures between Exits 5A and 8 for paving.
- Highway 118 (Dartmouth) – One-lane traffic between Micmac Blvd. and Exit 13E for construction.
- Peggys Cove Road – Single-lane traffic between Indian Point Rd. and Trunk 3 for roadwork.
- Highway 103 (Hubbards → Chester) – Intermittent weekday blasting at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. until 2027; brief closures both ways.
- Trunk 14 (Upper Nine Mile River) – One-lane paving between Indian Rd. and Ess Rd.
