Digby County RCMP arrest impaired driver in stolen vehicle, Digby County, N.S.

Digby County RCMP have arrested a 20-year-old Cornwallis man while investigating a crash. On Thursday December 11th at approximately 10:30 p.m., Digby RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on the Lansdowne Road in Bear River.

On Thursday December 11th at approximately 10:30 p.m., Digby RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on the Lansdowne Road in Bear River.

Subsequent investigation determined the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The man was arrested on scene. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had been stolen from Bear River just prior to the collision.

Alexander Andrew Baker, 20, has been charged with five criminal offences including Theft of Motor Vehicle, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving while Prohibited, Resisting Arrest and Breach of Probation. He is due to appear in court today in Annapolis Royal on these charges. The investigation is continuing.
